The clinics have really touched all of our hearts these past few days. God has truly worked through us and the doctors as well as all of the volunteers. Through our Lord, we have been able to touch many lives within the communities of Peru. Together, in the past two days of clinics, we have seen about 350 adults, and well over 100 children. The first clinic was held at an area clinic which only had three small rooms. They were used for the pharamacy, triage, and the physician room. The second clinic was held at a nearby school. We had two rooms: one for the pharmacy, and the other room for the triage and physicians. The most common illnesses that we have found people to have or complain of is bone pain, worms, poor appetites, diarrhea, rashes, and vitamin deficiencies. All of the people have such warm hearts and welcoming attitudes. Even though many of us do not speak Spanish, the people of Peru are very well at using nonverbal language with their hands to communicate with us. We also use many hand gestures to tell them what we would like them to do or where we would like them to go. Through past couple days, many of us have learned some Spanish and have gotten to know people real well. It is beautiful down here, and God has really touched our hearts as well as many others. While we have been at the clinics, Chad and Bruce have been busy working at Hannah's Hope (the orphanage), building their new roof.  Within the past two days, Chad and Bruce have been able to tear off the old roof of Hannah's Hope, reframe it, replywood it, and apply tar paper. They have prepared Hannah's Hope to finish the roofing on Friday. Praise God for the wonderful things going on down here

So what do an RN, AHC, Pharmacist, Carpenter, Marketing Director and 4 nursing students have in common? Not much.

Right now we are acquaintances.

Tomorrow we arrive in Peru together.

In a few days we become fast friends.

Those of you who've been on a mission trip understand this dynamic. There is something amazing about experiencing God together that binds you to each other. It happens with every team. This one will be no different.

Some of us are stressed. Some are unemployed. Some have never volunteered for anything in our life. Some have had a week that turned them upside down.

Tomorrow it all gets set aside.

"Jesus, show us your heart for your people and children in Peru."
